"Here's a report that Paramount is planning a new big-screen adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune, with Peter Berg attached to direct. I'm just not sure what I think of that. Unless it's a very long film, or it's split into two parts, I'm not sure a single film could ever do the novel justice. The best version, as far as I'm concerned, is still John Harrison's 2000 Sci-Fi Channel miniseries, though I love the look and feel of the Lynch film from 1984. The good news, however, is that it seems Harrison and Richard Rubenstein (who produced the Sci-Fi version) are attached to this new project. So there's hope at least it will be done right."
