Metal is trendy? I think not, my counterculture friend. If it were, I'd be listening to GOOD shit when I hit those miserable downtown corners of purgatory they call night clubs, not the hyper-produced noise of Kanye West and that shrieking failure of femininity Fergie.
Eh??? Guitar Hero in every dive bar, that stupid fucking Cartoon Network cartoon, shirts on mall mannequins, shirts in Target, merchandise at 7-11s, everything having to do with Hot Topic, songs in film trailers, black metal on MTV, songs in video games, once obscure bands getting on Ozzfest...
I mean, I seriously doubt it will play in nightclubs other than maybe those tuckered in back alleys of big cities, but that doesn't mean it's not currently a revolting fashion statement. Look at all the celebrities and sorority girls wearing Motorhead and Iron Maiden shirts, it makes my skin crawl!
Hmmm. You do have a point. I love seeing the likes of Jessica Simpson wearing skin tight t-shirts of bands that broke up 5 years before they were even born. I stand corrected, dear friend.
Oh, and I'd totally forgotten about the whole Hot Topic phenomenon. Goth goes Emo..... BLECH.
